Future of this Community

Does anyone wish to take over the ownership and maintenance of this community? It is currently moribund but could be revived, or it could simply be kept in aspic as part of the fandom record.

If nobody is interested I will simply delete it, but that seems a shame since there are some great essays here.

I don't know as I could think of any revival plans (at least at the present time) but if you just need someone else to be a maintainer, I'd be willing to do so.

It would be nice to see an annual event, or maybe once monthly postings or something. Let's see.

If you'd like to get in touch with me by thread, I'm currently reading through the FAQ to see what I'm supposed to do. And if you do have any ideas for a revival, I'll be willing to get involved. I know someone who's currently working (slowly) on a piece of meta she would probably be willing to cross-post. Let me talk to her before I volunteer her though.

Great! Ideally a community wants more than one post a month but considering the length of time many go without one it seems to me one could turn that bug into a feature ;) And 12 meta posts a year would be plenty enough reason to keep the comm going.

Please do not delete. I would be willing to help [livejournal.com profile] yourlibrarian maintain/moderate, though if a meta enthusiast comes along that wants to pump it up, that would be lovely, too. I'm all for multiple mods these days, as single owners dropping out can mean the whole thing is lost. :(

Well, it looks like you've come to the right place then! I don't write a lot of it, but I love to read it. It would be great if we could get people to link to their meta and/or post it here. I'm sure that [livejournal.com profile] fantas_magoia would be willing to partner with this site to do promotion.

Can you tell me more about this? This is just the type of project I am looking for...

No, don't get rid of it!!!!

Too many Whedonverse sites, on LJ or off, are disappearing already; to let one go that still has something to offer, even if it's as a sort of historical record of our fandom, would be a shame. I don't know anything about what's necessary to 'own and maintain' a community, but if a more competent person can't be found, I'll take it and do my best.

Oh dear, I'm so sorry to see you're leaving LJ... in fact that you already have. I hope you change your mind and come back someday; you're one of the people whose fan fiction convinced me that fandom was more than fanfic.net. And I still remember when you first opened the site. I'll do my best for your baby.
